Mallorca Tournament 2024 - Santa Ponça

General Information

Rule 1
The tournament is organized by Mallorca Football Events.
Rule 2
The games are organized on the premises of Santa Ponça sport complex in Santa Ponça on the island of Mallorca.

Rule 3
All matches are played according to the FIFA Futsal rules and regulations but executed in a customized tournament format. The customized Mallorca tournament futsal rules are leading!
Rule 4
Matches are led by International referees in cooperation with the tournament's management.
Rule 5
Teams are divided in categories & groups.
Rule 13-14 - Tournament Dates
Tournament schedule and eligibility:

May 7-11 2026: Mallorca 5-a-side Football Tournament open to Police Officers, Fire fighters, Custom Officers, Military personnel, Tax Officers, personnel of the Ministry of Interior, state, provincial or municipal employees, staff from the various ministries, and special invitations by the organization.


May 7-11 & May 14-18 2026: Mallorca 5-a-side Football Tournament opens for amateur teams, associated and non-associated teams, corporate teams, futsal/indoor soccer teams.

Team & Player Rules

Rule 6-7
It's prohibited to switch players from one team to another team playing in the same tournament/competition! When 2 teams play under the same team name, it is not possible to let any players switch from team to team. These teams will be monitored at every game.
Rule 8-9
The first mentioned team (home team) has to change shirts if both outfits are the same (color). There are also tournament vests in several colors available. Every team must be equipped with a second set of shirts, which are different from the colors of the original club outfit.
Rule 10-11
The pitches are artificial grass. Players are advised to wear regular Futsal (indoor Soccer) shoes or special Astro turf football shoes. There are changing-rooms at the pitches; teams are welcome to use these. Players are also allowed to prepare themselves in the hotel rooms as well in between games.
Rule 12
The team's representative reports to the Organization headquarters 30 minutes before the scheduled first match, and must submit their list of players.
Rule 28
Each team must be accompanied by a coach.

Age Categories

Age Category Rules (Rules 18-24)
The tournament features multiple age categories with specific requirements:
35+ Tournament (men & women)
All players must be at least 35 years of age or older. The team may have 2 players younger than 35 years old but these players must be at least 30 years of age or older.
45+ Tournament
All players must be at least 45 years of age or older. The team may have 2 players younger than 45 years old but these players must be at least 40 years of age or older.
55+ Tournament
All players must be at least 55 years of age or older. The team may have 2 players younger than 55 years old but these players must be at least 50 years of age or older.
Rule 21
The responsible referee, referee coordinator, or members of the organization may ask the players participating in the 35+ & 45+ & 55+ tournament for their ID in order to check the age of the player. Every player playing in one of the veteran competitions has the obligation to bring his ID or a copy of his ID with him during his matches/match day.
Important Notice: If a player is not able to proof his age to the referee, the referee has the right to exclude the player from the matches until the player involved can proof his age.
Rule 22-23
It's prohibited to switch players from one team to another team playing in the same (age)category! It's not prohibited to switch players from one team to another team playing in a different (age) category! Teams will be monitored at every game.
Rule 24-25
If a team of the 35+ & 45+ & 55+ competition/tournament plays with younger players as allowed, the team will be disqualified from the tournament/competition. If this occurs in the knock out phase or semifinals: The results in the group phase will remain unchanged, the team involved will be disqualified, and the opponent will have a win of 3-0 and go through/on to the next round. Match Format & Gameplay

Rule 15
The team whose name is stated first on the match form will start on the left side of the pitch, seen from the side of the beach, and will have the kick off. The kick off moment will be directed by the referee.
Match Duration
The match lasts according the times mentioned in the tournament schedule (no half-time interval). The Knock-outs on Sunday lasts according the times mentioned in the tournament schedule (no half-time interval). The Finals on Sunday lasts according the times mentioned in the tournament schedule (no half-time interval).
Team Composition
A match is played by two teams: each consisting of 4 fielders and 1 goalkeeper (color shirt deviating from color shirt of the players).
Rule 16-17
The numbers of substitutions made during a match is unlimited. The player entering the pitch must do so at his own substitution zone, but only until the player leaving the pitch has passed completely over the touch line (= a good replacement is one player out and then a new player in). The substitution zone is situated on the same side of the pitch as the teams' benches and directly in front of them.
Rule 38
The tournament's sportive management will supply the necessary materials for the match. The matches will be played number 4 Futsal balls.

Disciplinary Rules

Rule 26
Every team has to be present 5 minutes before kickoff. The team that does not show up on time at the sports field, loses the match by 0 - 3 and will not receive any points. For the team that wins through a no show match by 'no-show', get 3 goals as their total score.
Rule 27
If a team withdraws from the tournament, it loses all matches 0-3. Also the games already played.
Rule 29 - Yellow Card
A player receipting a Yellow card has to leave the pitch for one (1) minute! After a goal scored against by the opposite team, the player can enter the field again. The jury-table signals if the player can enter the game again. It has to be the same player entering the field who receipt the yellow card!
Rule 30 - Red Card
A player receipting a Red card has to leave the pitch for the rest of that match. The team has to play with one player less for three (3) minutes! After a goal scored against by the opposite team, another player can enter the field. The Jury-table signals if another player can enter the game.
Rule 31
Protesting is not permitted. Decisions of the tournament's sportive management are final.
Rule 32
After every match the referee in charge of that game and both involved coaches or team captains have to report at the jury table near the pitches to sign the score sheet of that particular match. This is obligated. The signing of the score sheet has to be done immediately after the match in order to approve the result of that game.

Tournament Format & Penalties

Rule 35 - Group Stage Tie-Breaking
When there is a tie and equal scores in any of the groups these rules will be applied:
  • Goal difference (goals for – goals against)
  • Highest number of scored goals
  • The least goals against
  • The mutual results
Rule 36
The final ranking for the knockout rounds and finales: the team that wins their game goes on for the next round. For the team who lose the game, the tournament stops.
Rule 37 - Penalty Shootout
When there is a tie with equal scores in the following Knockout rounds the players take penalties. Each team takes three penalties. If the score remains unchanged the entire procedure will be repeated again until one team wins with a lead by one goal. The referee will have toss to decide which team will start the penalty shootout. The team who wins the toss, starts shooting. The penalty shots have to be taken by different players.

Conduct & Safety Rules

Rule 34
Each team is required to report at the tournament's sports headquarters before leaving every day on the tournament.
Rule 39-40
Smoking and drinking alcohol is prohibited on the pitches. The use of glass is also forbidden. Alcoholic consumption has to be limited, as extensive alcohol consumption has a clear influence on the match, a team or an individual player can. Every participant is responsible for his behavior in this respect; and will be hold responsible when damage is reported.
Rule 41-42
Other than players and coaches, no other person has the right to enter the field. Everyone is kindly asked to remain on the stand or in the sports arena's restaurant when not playing. In this way, the room around the field is reserved for those teams and players in the current matches.
Rule 43
For any other rules or regulations not mentioned then the tournament's sportive management's decisions is final as presented by the chief of the tournament's sportive management, in accordance with the representative of the board, or by any person appointed by him.
Rule 44
The organization of the tournament reminds participants to insure themselves for all medical costs that may be occasioned through any injuries during the tournament.
